My Conversation with CGB President Kevin Adams

CGB EnterprisesLast week while visiting New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl (Go Buckeyes!), I visited with CGB Enterprises President and CEO Kevin Adams. Adams, an Ohio State Alum, runs one of the leading grain and transportation companies in the country. Headquartered just North of Lake Pontchartrain, CGB operates a global enterprise in more than 70 locations with over 1200 employees, overseeing a diverse family of businesses.

According to the firm’s website, the company provides an array of services for grain farmers, from financing and risk management to buying, storing, selling and shipping of the crop. CGB continues to be one of the largest shippers of grain on the inland river system.

I spoke with Adams about the global commodity markets and his thoughts on what 2011 might look like. We also discussed the state of the inland river system, locks and dams infrastructure, and the many happenings in the Gulf region in the last decade.
